FROM THE FLOOR UP!

Flooring and Design Center by Redi-Cut, formerly known as Redi-Cut Carpets of Port Chester, NY, is still a family owned and operated business establishment. Opened in 1984 by Betty Renaudo and joined shortly thereafter by her son Michael after graduating college, they rooted their business around personalized customer service, flawless installations, custom fabrications, and timely and accurate services. Nearly 40 years later, Betty and Michael (and their commission-free staff) pride themselves on supplying their communities with top quality flooring, always fair pricing, and many helping hands along the way.

Fast forward to the spring of 2020, and while most of the world was forced to stay in their homes, we were forced to find a new one. While a global pandemic forced many small businesses to downsize or go out of business completely, we decided to ‘go bigger’. Being forced from our home of 38yrs due to our building (entire city block actually) being sold to a developer for new construction, we embarked on a mission to find a home we could expand in to. Despite the uncertainty of what was to come, the pair decided to refocus their business plan to include a full-scale flooring and design business. Our 4,500 square foot showroom/warehouse combination grew into a 15,000 sq ft design center in Stamford, CT, plus a 5,000 square foot warehouse only 2 miles away.

Our new showroom, which opened on July 4^th weekend of 2021, is designed with an open floor plan that highlights much more than carpeting. Aiming to be a one-stop-shop for both homeowners and designers, we offer a full line of hard and soft surfaces not just for your floors but for your windows and walls too! We have partnered with an independently owned/operated window design shop to bring you name brand products, expert estimates and installations, and competitive pricing from day-to-day affordable to luxurious custom designs. And our array of wallpapers from the best-known suppliers in the business will have your room and home design complete in no time flat.

Any conversation about flooring must include the gorgeous natural hardwoods that dominate today’s design landscape. Open floorplans go hand-in-hand with natural hardwood or engineered hardwood floors. Their colors, textures, and natural appearance lend itself to all design tastes, and we invite you down to view the hundreds of choices we have for you in natural and engineered woods, sourced almost exclusively from  North American stock. We provide expert installation, and we offer sand and staining services for your existing wood floors, or for unfinished wood we provide and stain to your specifications in your home.

Complementing hardwood surfaces are a whole line (and 1500sqft of our store space) dedicated to luxury vinyl tile and plank flooring options. We have come a long way from the days of Pergo floors (an early brand of vinyl flooring). Todays luxury vinyl flooring is literally waterproof, can be installed over imperfect floors, can be floated, glued, or gunned, and will list a literal lifetime. Come see the thousands of samples waiting to … floor you!

And before you think we forgot where we came from, we happen to have over one million dollars worth of rugs and broadloom carpet in our showroom alone. They range from 3×5 finished area rugs to 15’ wide rolls of luxurious wool/silk carpet, and everything in between. Traditional selections? Check. Transitional themes? Of course. Contemporary designs? with flare? Yes and Yes.  With custom sizes and colors available for immediate enjoyment, the choices offered are endless. We also bind and serge any rug and will guide you on the best color and material selection for your piece. And by stocking the best lines in Bokara and Stark Studio, there isn’t anything you will not be able to find here!

Lastly, don’t forget to ask us about our interior decorator services as well as our contracting services. Yes, you read that correctly: we can build or remodel a room or extension for you, and help you design and decorate it, all under one roof!
